Objectified

Following on from the excellent Helvetica, Gary Hustwit’s new project is a documentary on industrial design called ‘ Objectified‘. The documentary explores the creative process behind some of the world’s most influential designers and how their designs impact on our world.

The film is currently in production with a release date of early 2009. Featuring interviews with the likes of Jonathan Ive (Apple), Marc Newson (Ikepod, Lockheed Lounge), Dieter Rams (Braun) and Bill Moggridge (IDEO); Objectified looks set to become a designer’s ‘must-see’.
Gary covers the rationale behind the film on the Objectified blog and it’s worth checking out the production stills which give a flavour as to how good this film will be.

Worth checking out as well is the logo for Objectified, designed by Michael C. Place from Build and made up of a number of ‘iconic’ design icons including the iPod scroller, Braun radio and the Panton chair.
