Author Michael Rubin is making his book DroidMaker, available as a free download. A must for any Star War/Lucas fan, the book covers the inside story of George Lucas, LucasFilm, THX sound, and the birth of Pixar.

• Star Wars: A new heap – great essay on Star Wars and minimalism that takes in the influence of Kubrick’s 2001, machine aesthetics and modernist sculpture and architecture.
• Simon Mullen’s ‘Magnificent Revolutionary Cycling Cinema‘. Nice documentary shot on Super8 about a cinema powered by bikes. Worth checking out are the group behind it, ‘Magnificent Revolution‘.

• The Unfinished Swan – Interesting idea, a first-person painting game set in a white world. It’s currently being prototyped using XNA Game Studio. Video’s worth checking out.
